Hi, I'm Carina Lindsey.
Carina has a distinguished career, counseling hundreds of high school, college, and adults in transition to college and career success. Carina spent nine years coaching high school students and adults with a non-profit education foundation in Mississippi and in secondary education institutions as they made important college and career decisions. She spent five years providing mental wellness and counseling services with community organizations. Carina is currently the Director of Student Sucess at Belhaven Univ, and she is the owner of Dare and Defeat Counseling and Career Planning Services.
Carina graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology, and a master’s in Counselor Education and Guidance Counseling from Mississippi State University and an Education Specialist in Counseling from Mississippi College. She is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner, National Board Certified Counselor, National Board Certified School Counselor, Mississippi Licensed Guidance Counselor and Vocational Counselor, and completing supervision for Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Her work in counseling and career development has led to many significant awards including Mississippi Counseling Association College Counselor of the Year Award (2017); Southern Association of College and Admissions Counselors Rising Star Award (2015), and National Association of College Counseling Imagine Grant (2014).
For whom I can be helpful
I offer career counseling, career coaching, career assessments, and outplacement services for high school students, college students, new professionals, and adults in career transition. I also offer team dynamics and professional development training workshops to organizations and companies.
Career Planning and Career Counseling services are designed to help individuals acquire or plan a meaningful career. Whether it be to choose, change, leave, or transition into a line of work, the career counseling process can reduce the stress of any stage in career development and transition.
D&D career counseling services will be unique to you to build your confidence and reduce anxiety during the decision making and change process. Depending on individual needs, career counseling services use assessments to identify personal interests and values, identification of college majors and career options, navigating the job search process, interview coaching, resume building, search strategies, etiquette, and decision making.
